Shotokan is (relatively) nothing like Kyokushin is nothing like Goju Kai
But they all fall under the umbrella of 'karate'
And then half the people watching it fucking go 'is that Taekwondo?' anyway
I know most people don't do it to troll practicioners
but it is funny
Well always remember...

I know nothing about a subject, and make a "master" go nuts
Can anyone answer my question
Thanks
no
just admit it
why counter the argument when you can have a bit of fun?
I know you have a lot of Krav Maga for self defence guys in the US. But I don't really think that's what it's about
It's not
And like American dad said, for self defence a gun is better. If this is what you're actually worried about
There was a documentary series going about 10 years ago
it's a weapon
being prepared to kill with your hands
Hey gays
New trap
Guess who
Yeah I'm pretty sure Tai Chi and all those "ancient arts" are complete BS
That's not how people fight
Nah, I don't think so
I think what we see in the mainstream, is a filtered, neutral version of the real thing that just looks cool and keeps people fit
The guy took down a "Tai Chi master" is 12 seconds
And that's not very surprising to be honest
Yeah, and you can get a master certificate from any studio
Even i could go be a Karate "master"
Doesn't mean it's the real thing
I'm still pretty sure Tai Chi can't teach you how to fight though. Karate can definitely teach you how to fight
I don't know, I suppose
I want to see the real thing. I doubt tai chi is just dancing, if it was historically used in the battlefields
*most* TMAs *can* at least give you a good base of fundamentals (at least in striking, and assuming you don't join a super-dodgy club)
especially nowadays that they have to compete with more legit martial arts styles, now that the veil of Eastern mysticism has been torn down
