This entire conversation is based on the assumption that Trump's audience is not able to understand the nuance of calling the media "the enemy of the people", and interpret that as the large media conglomerates.

trumps audience don't have a problem understanding his nuance... it's trumps adversaries that refuse to understand his nuance so they can clutch their pearls and fake moral outrage, hence the constant fake news.

the news has always done that to some degree, it's part of gaining an audience.

Im not saying they have not

And for the most part it hasn't done much harm to the country.

But with the advent of internet news, cable is hemmoraging cash.

So they're having to get more and more extreme

to desperately grasp their audiences

And while I detest what they've become I don't blame them

people gotta eat

and it's easier to do this than reinvent
