Ideally we should have a culture that views homosexuality as irrelevant, because the thing that is going to improve the quality of life for gay people the most is to be treated normally, for being gay to be unimportant, this is the argument Morgan Freeman made regarding black identity and I think the same logic applies here. I want the typical response to "I'm gay" to be "cool didn't know that" and thats it, no hoopla, no fanfare or drama or anything else, just say it and move on
