I don't necessarily look forward to the massive failure of the US and capitalism that will come from global warming, when wars over water and inability to produce crops because of climate destroy the economy, but I think that disaster socialism will eventually become necessary - not because of lack of foresight, because there's been plenty of it coming from the left - but because of the unspeakable greed, corruption, and selfishness from capitalist society which refused to save the environment in order to get a quick high off of destruction of the environment and slavery of workers.
