I was actually studying Journalism at college, and they had an intro course in web development. And then dropped out of journo to study programming instead.

@Jas I studied Economics but ended up in IT just because I loved that as a hobby.

What really baffled me at that college was that the IT knowledge of not only the teachers, but also the students was entirely nonexistent.
