The next Windows will probably be good again.

2019-04-18 12:48:34 UTC

They have a bad and good one every second release.

2019-04-18 12:48:46 UTC

That's because it takes one and a half releases to make a proper windows.

2019-04-18 12:48:54 UTC

You could change to.... Linux

2019-04-18 12:49:01 UTC

for me win 10 have been just fine.

2019-04-18 12:49:03 UTC

So the bugs of the last one aren't fixed until one release later.

2019-04-18 12:49:15 UTC

I'm using Linux mostly. But the drivers are still worse.

2019-04-18 12:49:22 UTC

I would love to be wrong about that one day.

2019-04-18 12:49:34 UTC

But GPU performance and newest features always come to Windows first.

2019-04-18 12:50:30 UTC

I don't want to buy an expensive NVidia GPU just to not be able to use it fully for CUDA and Tensforflow and so forth.

2019-04-18 12:51:27 UTC

Find me a setup that is just as fast under Linux and I'll happily buy that.

2019-04-18 12:53:58 UTC

Thats above my paygrade, but I'm glad you do your research

2019-04-18 12:54:20 UTC

It's above your paygrade to buy a computer with a GPU?

2019-04-18 12:54:48 UTC

I'm sorry to hear that.

2019-04-18 12:54:54 UTC

Do they lock you in the basement?

2019-04-18 12:55:17 UTC

Blink twice if they are giving you adequate food and water.

2019-04-18 12:56:17 UTC

We understand. A SWAT team is on the way.

2019-04-18 12:56:32 UTC

squat team

2019-04-18 12:57:31 UTC

ho ho ho ho

2019-04-18 12:57:47 UTC

Damn software upgrades... I just upgraded my Samplitude Pro to the X4 Suite and now my MIDI settings don't work.
- oh well, time to spend the rest of the day working out what the feck has changed.

2019-04-18 13:05:36 UTC

I've never used Samplitude, but it's been around since the Amiga days, from what I know.

2019-04-18 13:06:20 UTC

Oh, great software - a bit pricey but the most stable one for PC when working with midi

2019-04-18 13:06:36 UTC

I can't wait to have more time to work with audio again.

2019-04-18 13:06:39 UTC

work/play

2019-04-18 13:06:51 UTC

But don't they all have MIDI support?

2019-04-18 13:07:09 UTC

It's one of the most basic audio standards you can think of, no?

2019-04-18 13:07:12 UTC

Something like Reaper is easier to learn, but not quite as stable

2019-04-18 13:07:26 UTC

You mean it crashes?

2019-04-18 13:07:48 UTC

yes, Samplitude is the best for not crashing

2019-04-18 13:08:06 UTC

and it has the best midi editing too

2019-04-18 13:08:07 UTC

That's kind of sad. You'd think they would have that figured out after 27 years.

2019-04-18 13:08:32 UTC

sorry - no - Samplitude does not crash... the others do

2019-04-18 13:08:40 UTC

I never had Ableton or Cubase crash on me.

2019-04-18 13:08:55 UTC

Well, when I made a VST I think I crashed the VST host, but that's it.

2019-04-18 13:09:17 UTC

Ah, right. I understood you, but I guess I worded that weirdly.

2019-04-18 13:09:20 UTC

Good to hear, I avoided them because people I knew said they still crashed when working on large projects

2019-04-18 13:09:44 UTC

Many of the big DAWs have been around for decades.
