I'm ironically getting really into Feminist theory and Feminist history as well
there's a lot of Feminist theory that is shocking and I think makes the case for the MHRM on its own
some stuff like the duluth model and ideas like "domestic violence=power +abuse" sets up a paradigm that erases lived male experiences
google has lots of articles and studies and studies, you can enter something like "male DV victims call polcie arrested", i got this:
or "studies male DV"
a lot of times you will have to read multiple sources and put pieces together, then compare with things feminists organizations say and do
there's little MRA literature because it's never been widely supported, espcially in any university setting. that's why its hard to spread and easy to slander. its an uphill battle
and reading feminist theory is just as important, because anything you post will be attacked with it, so you need to know the inconsistencies and flaws
alright this is all good to start with. i g2g, but I'll report back. thx
great! and this is the MR sub, you don't have to worry about us knowing your reddit name. we're all users there
let me know if you post something, ill give you me thoughts
Hello to @Meaghan615 too.
@chickaboom If you want more books, a good few that get overlooked a lot are:
The Second Sexism is a good into, but you probably won't need it.
The Suffragette Bombers is a good one for debates. It tells you how the First Wave feminists were rich terrorists who didn't care about the common woman and nearly cost women the vote and how men couldn't vote either.
In terms of feminist theory: Woman Hating by Andrea Dworkin will make your brains dribble out your ears. XP
@Men Are Human The way Muslims act doesn’t change the way the religion is
And Iran are Shi’a so they don’t count, as for the other countries, well Saudi and Mauritania for example have always been this way alhamdulillah
@BeelzeBeetle I would disagree
I don't think saying that different sects of Islam 'don't count' as part of Islam is correct
@Deleted User Oh, I didn't mean to imply that. I was just curious as to if there was an official canonical reason in the Islamic holy book or if it was a traditional practice of Islam as a culture. I've seen some very varied Islamic practices.
hi @Joyce431
@Men Are Human It's canon
wow, twox with some BS propaganda about men serving less tiem for the same crime
thats an infuriating spin
No surprise there.
I really wanna see the logic/source they are using for that.. I can't find the thread though
Can anyone find the 'National coalition against domestic violence 1989' where this is supposedly sourced from? Cause I sure can't
Is it just a bloody statement with no link to a study?
The guardian article claims the source as the ACLU, but the ACLU cite them
Ah, I should have read the comments. The reply from EasternLeopard sums it up. There is no study, they got a brick wall at the same point I did
So.. BS propaganda backed up by nothing
Par for the feminist course
hi @Kailee1535
@InsaneCaterpilla it's so obviously, untrue, its almost absurd. there is zero percent chance men get an average of 2-6 years for killing a woman in the united states
