Trump isn’t the personification of the “right”, or of “free-market capitalism”, or of “individual liberty”. He’s just the one in charge of the party that is supposed to stand for those things.

Its not his policy conservatives are particularly attracted to, its the fact that he's not one of "them".

Problem is there is a significant chunk of people that are engaged in Trumpism, rather than conservatism. If you want some healthy criticism, Trump has been overall bad for core conservatives.
