So be it.

You have your reward

My short reply to being referred to as the “enemy” is to try to lighten the mood with a few memes.

2019-12-15 21:47:17 UTC

A man does not educate his enemies unless he means to trick them

2019-12-15 21:49:45 UTC

So are you making clear that you are attempting to trick me, or that I, as a Catholic, am your enemy? Perhaps both?

2019-12-15 21:50:45 UTC

I will watch the video when I am able, and then I will give some feedback. That more than likely won’t happen for some hours, as I’m tied up with other things.

Lol the toilet epiphany

2019-12-15 23:34:19 UTC

on the way...

2019-12-16 00:15:20 UTC

So, I've skimmed the first half of this video while sitting on the toilet. As luck would have it, that it was the proper place to do so.

The first half of the video is nothing more than garbage pulled out of his own backside by Alexander Hislop. Isn't it amazing that those who seek with such fervent bias do indeed seem so quickly to fall upon such so-called evidence? When Hislop ran into facts that did not fit into his narrative, he simply tossed them out. Hislop made so many completely false assertions that I feel embarrassed for him. He wrote them into several books, too. His major logical fallacy was post hoc ergo propter hoc. He made false connections to things that didn't exist. I believe that Jack Chick incorporated many of these Hislop fallacies into his garbage literature.

The obelisk in St. Peter's Square is a remembrance for the martyrdom of many saints, in particular, the martyrdom of Saint Peter. It also acts as a sundial and calendar. Quoting Pope Benedict XVI: "The great obelisk casts its shadow in a line that runs along the paving stones toward the fountain beneath this window and in these days, the shadow is at its longest of the year."

2019-12-16 00:15:47 UTC

See how that works?

2019-12-16 00:16:12 UTC

St. Peter's Square is not intended to be a penis in the middle of a vagina, nor a symbol to worship the Egyptian sun god. This is nothing more than post hoc fallacy. The Vatican also has an observatory. If Hislop were alive today, then he would undoubtedly write in a new book that this means Rome has contact with aliens.

2019-12-16 00:21:15 UTC

I'll have to listen to the second half of that video later. I have to get dinner going right now.

2019-12-16 03:46:04 UTC

...

2019-12-16 03:49:29 UTC

The second half of that video is complete and utter trash, lies, and deceit.

2019-12-16 04:18:42 UTC

I best circle back to the obelisk in St. Peter's Square discussion for a minute, as some new thoughts came to me over dinner.

2019-12-16 04:19:00 UTC

I wanted to know about the inscriptions at the base of the obelisk and what they meant.

2019-12-16 04:19:31 UTC

And I also wanted to look up the history of the obelisk and see why it was chosen.

2019-12-16 04:19:55 UTC

So, here we go:

2019-12-16 04:22:48 UTC

> I'll just tell you about the obelisk at St. Peter's. It was originally erected in Heliopolis by an unknown pharaoh of the Fifth dynasty of Egypt. The Emperor Augustus had it moved to the Julian Forum of Alexandria, where it stood until A.D. 37, when Caligula ordered the forum demolished and the obelisk transferred to Rome. He placed it in the center of the Circus, where it would preside over Nero's countless brutal games and Christian executions. This obelisk is thus one silent witness to all those countless Christian martyrs who shed their blood for the faith within the Circus - which is why it was considered to be rather special.
>
> BTW, the obelisk now has these inscriptions. Here are three out of four:
>
> Christus Vincit,
> Christus Regnat,
> Christus Imperat.
> Christus ab omni malo
> Plebem suam
> Defendat.
>
> Ecce Crux Domini,
> Fugite
> Partes adversae.
> Vicit Leo de Tribu Juda.
>
> Sixtus V Pont[ifex] Max[imus]
> Obeliscum Vaticanum
> Di`s gentium
> Impio cultu dicatum
> Ad Apostolorum limina
> Operoso labore transtulit
> Anno M.D.LXXXVI. Pont II.
>
> ***"Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands. Christ defends His people from all evil." "Behold the Cross of the Lord; flee you adversaries. The Lion of Judah has conquered."***
> Can't get more Christian than that. ;)
>
> ***"Sixtus V, Supreme Pontiff, with great effort moved the Vatican obelisk, once dedicated to the impious cult of the people of Dis (another name for the Roman god Pluto, later also applied to Satan; i.e. pagan gods), to the threshold of the Apostles in the second year of his pontificate, year 1586."***

> On the top of this obelisk in St. Peter's Square is a cross. Inside this cross is a relic of the True Cross. Here we have a stone monument that stood in the presence of thousands of the earliest Christian martyrs, now containing a relic of the True Cross. To accuse Catholics of paganism is an insult to the deaths of the martyrs who refused to pay homage to Roman gods.
