He annihilated the order.
The Pope did not create the Knights Templar. They existed for a dozen or so years before they were even given ecclesiastical recognition. Nor did the Pope destroy them.
I had no idea that there were so many anti-Catholic machinations having to do with the Templars.

Besides, the Templars had been engaging in those banking cartels we all love
personally i think the alleged hostility between the church and the templars was all for outward appearance
just like their alleged hostility between them and the arabs
