Do you guys think Africa as the whole continent would be more industrialized 🏭 if it was still under British rule?

I mean who really knows

I say yes. Great Britain 🇬🇧 before the dominance of America was the largest and most powerful country there was. There defeated the Spanish at sea under Queen Elizabeth I, also known as the Spanish Armada.

They were industrialized with a standing unified army and Africa was this uncivilized continent rich with human labor, resources and potential for influence. When they came to Africa they brought along new thinking that no one ever thought off or seen.

For example the Spanish conquistadors brought along cannons, horses, metal armor, etc. the Aztec or Inca’s never seen it before and they were scared of the “white men.” They saw them as Gods from the west. And horses 🐎 scared them.

Taking that story to Africa, Africa slave business and etc, in the end Africa became far mire civilized and unified under the British rule and under the Christian doctrine.

They became developed, after they were forced out, the ended up becoming a power struggle. The British held power and when they left, it left a power vacuum or void needed to be field. That filling let to massacre and war between a groups of people. Africa is still in poverty and undeveloped.

I disagree tbh

British rule in Africa was oppressive, bloody, and imperialist. They stole resources from Africa, not gave them resources. They wouldn't have industrialized it further. Even if they magically decided to, it would be just to make the lives of Brits better and the lives of Africans worse.

So explain to me why Africa is still undeveloped? What about India? Or much of Asia? All of them use to be British colonies

Hbu? Haiti or the Caribbean?

Why are they undeveloped and poverty is high?
