So we're definitely on the same page there. All I was trying to say earlier is that the way it was ultimately handled was bad. The solution you suggested (shooting him in the leg once or twice) is a good example of how it could have been dealt with much more reasonably

And after that with given proof of the rape the death sentence should have went into effect

Sure, but that's still a separate issue in my mind - whether or not he should get the death sentence is something that should be resolved after the due process of the law, after he has his day in court and whatnot
