being really good at getting shit done but crappy at getting paid for it is the story of my life.

2019-06-23 22:17:25 UTC

@Happy Humble Hermit alright cool, I'll keep doing Unity tutorials. So far, the programming is really easy, since I program at my day job. What scares me is the art and animations, it looks like it takes a massive amount of time to make it look not-ugly.

2019-06-23 22:18:16 UTC

@lazyneet outside of unity what other kind of programming do you need to be able to do to make a game?

2019-06-23 22:19:04 UTC

I don't know, I think it's mostly unity with C#, or unreal engine with C++ @Lilu

2019-06-23 22:19:26 UTC

Unless you somehow want to program your own engine, which I'm sure is more trouble than it's worth

2019-06-23 22:19:31 UTC

@lazyneet thanks

2019-06-23 22:19:46 UTC

I'm just looking for a hobby

2019-06-23 22:20:22 UTC

Yeah I just spent all weekend doing unity tutorials. It's my new hobby / potentially side hustle

2019-06-23 22:20:25 UTC

ideally one that could get me skills to help in some cool game in the future.

2019-06-23 22:21:08 UTC

What I'm seeing is, it is very easy to follow a tutorial and make a ugly, non-fun game. Making a pretty and fun game is hard.

2019-06-23 22:21:54 UTC

Chess is still fun. I think too many game devs focus on pretty graphics. One of the most successful games in recent years was ugly as fuck

2019-06-23 22:22:02 UTC

I'm talking about minecraft.

2019-06-23 22:22:21 UTC

true

2019-06-23 22:23:07 UTC

I think that the problem is that too many game devs are focusing on shit that does not matter. It's a game, being fun to play is by far the number 1 priority.

2019-06-23 22:23:26 UTC

Total Annihilation from back in the early 90's is still fun as fuck.

2019-06-23 22:24:31 UTC

My goal is to make a game simliar to Honey Select, but scaled down appropriately

2019-06-23 22:24:41 UTC

Will be a while for me to get there, though

2019-06-23 22:25:02 UTC

@lazyneet yeah art and animations broke the bank for me, and everyone has their own preferences so you will never be able to please everybody. just follow your gut instinct and make what you want and they will come

2019-06-23 22:25:35 UTC

@lazyneet if its your first game or project, start small. ive been making games since i was 15

2019-06-23 22:26:26 UTC

My thought is to make a game that is really easy graphics wise and try to make something that you and friends could play. Just get it barely working. Then you will think of ways to make it better. Keep working on it until you feel confident enough to do something cool and start over.

2019-06-23 22:27:36 UTC

@Happy Humble Hermit Did you hire artists and animators, or buy from the asset store?

2019-06-23 22:29:59 UTC

@lazyneet i have 3 team members ive been paying out of pocket

2019-06-23 22:32:52 UTC

Popp is fucking brutal " the most dangerous place for a black male in New York is his mother's womb " then he show the headline from an article that says more black babies are aborted in NYC than are born alive. Fucking brutal.

2019-06-23 22:39:33 UTC

this is true

2019-06-23 22:40:06 UTC

in this country as a whole tbh =S

2019-06-23 22:40:35 UTC

whats worse is that they use the aborted fetus, inject it with mercury based vaccinations, then give kids all around the world autism

2019-06-23 22:44:38 UTC

ya but the tism helps you sit in the basement and make good games.

2019-06-23 22:51:06 UTC

yea, and cdc barred americans from suing the pharmaceutical companies, unicef / world health organization, for the life long effects of their products

2019-06-23 22:53:59 UTC

Guys just one quick update
The vaccinations may cause some problems but actually thanks to them, more kids survive, who couldn't otherwise...

And the main cause of autism is (imho) definitely that 30 is the new 20 and more and more older women have children..

2019-06-23 22:56:06 UTC

I disagree. The main cause of autism is 2 to 3 generations of low fat diet.

2019-06-23 22:57:15 UTC

@MikeTheNoob I have a niece who is retarded as a result of 2 year old vacinations. You are preaching to the couior.

2019-06-23 22:58:37 UTC

@conker the evidence for that is not as clear cut as you make it sound. Much of the benefits attributed to vaccines is really a result of the exansion of indoor plumbing.

2019-06-23 22:59:15 UTC

and that is just one of the many side factors that gets overlooked when they do the " benefits of vacines " calculations.

2019-06-23 23:00:29 UTC

Plus now-a-days more and more illnesses are caused by vacinnes. They put live viruses in vacines sometimes to spread lab created flus around

2019-06-23 23:00:32 UTC

the evidence of that is...its harder for children to clear mercury out of their system, the evidence is in the rise of autism in the united states

2019-06-23 23:00:49 UTC

and then claim that the vacine is what prevented people from getting the virus that they created.

2019-06-23 23:00:56 UTC

more and more illnesses are caused by vaccines? Gonna need proof on that.

2019-06-23 23:01:11 UTC

its good money...create the illness that you then create more drugs to treat

2019-06-23 23:01:27 UTC

Oh, great, you woke up Nexus.

2019-06-23 23:01:39 UTC

Now he's gonna call me a boomer and tell me to shut up.

2019-06-23 23:02:11 UTC

i dont need to prove that vaccines's dont cause autism to show why they are needed. would you rather have a kid with autism or a kid with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gplA6pq9cOs
