I know, it was an alliance of convenience. The plague of Marxism is an idea that had infected Germany and Russia but in WW2 Germany was more of a threat. After WW2 came the cold war stand off with America and Soviet Union.

I agree. "Kind of" allies. They did imprison our airmen who were forced to divert and land in the USSR from raids on Japan. The Tu-4 was a result of that stuff - they seized those B-29s. We never shared those on Lend Lease.

The hilarious thing is that the Soviets refused to participate in the Pacific theater, and only declared war on Japan AFTER we'd dropped the bomb.

Well, The enemy of my enemy is my friend. So it wasn’t us fighting for socialism, it was us fighting hitler while simultaneously helping the enemy of our enemy.

It’d be like if a bully beat up you and your other, smaller bully. Beating up the big bully isn’t fighting for the smaller bully, It’s standing up for yourself and helping others. One of those others just happens to be your bully.
