Huh idk. The recoil would be pretty bad though. Also .50 cal ammo is fairly large. I'd think it would depend on the shotgun.

most shotgun barrels are thin in structure, 50cal barrels are thick and strong in structure

But you can fire slug rounds in a shot gun so i wasn't sure

most shotgun shells have guide sleeves around the projectiles ..to focus the pressure behind the shot and not all around it

50cal does this also..but it's built into the shell casing ...to focus the pressure behind the shot

but that focused pressure drops drastically when shell is placed into a shotgun barrel

so in effect, it will get slower before it leaves the barrel

than if shot out of a normal 50cal gun
