Firstly, the requirement is extremely low for "proficiency".

Secondly, wouldn't it be better if we didn't test peoples working knowledge of English while they're at the ballot box? It would improve reading speed and comprehension which helps get people through the voting process, reduce the potential for people needing help (which could invite mistranslations and more fowl play)

Thirdly, if you think that every immigrant voter will vote a specific way then you're misinformed. Trump (whom, on this server is the favored candidate, thankfully) has a lot of support from immigrants, both new and older. So there is no real reason I see for not having other languages on the ballot.

Again, this is a Devil's Advocate moment, if you have evidence to the contrary please present it and hit me with a DM or tag me in a Gen chat to continue this. I love these discussions. Love y'all.

In my experience with the many legal immigrants (Hispanic) that I have worked with over the years, they hate illegal immigrants far more than anybody else.

It's _only_ about equating language capability with citizenship.
Given that context I can only believe you were making the same conflation.
