but I'm not okay with authoritarianism...and we are quickly moving towards that...all so that people can be comfortable pets that live without any perception of risk

...but much like the cow that does not give milk, there will be little use for them once they have nothing to offer. Down the road, when automation rules and replaces the need for most jobs...there will be no need for the masses....the best they can hope for is to be a well-fed pet of the elite.

Yeah but most of the virus particles are suspended in aerosols, tiny tiny water droplets. Those tend to be larger and (at least the theory goes) that many of them will be hindered by the mask.

I would ask you to at least attack what they are actually arguing for, not what they aren't. they are arguing that masks block some of the the particles the COVID-19 ride on, thus reducing how much of it gets in the air, thus reducing the chance that someone will get it. COVID-19 rarely travels in the air itself

I've already quoted scientific studies and major physician organizations that extensively explain how in general masks (except MAYBE very well used specific high filtering respirators without valves) are pretty much useless, and I also used particle size logic to support that claim, WHERE'S THE ATTACK?

the particle size logic is what I was talking about. Generally, educated advocates for masks are saying that the specific particle of SARS-CoV-2 is not what masks are supposed to bloc. they are supposed to block the particles SARS-CoV-2 rides on. a lot of these are large enough to be blocked by a mask. therefore the "particle size logic" isn't fully correct. that is what they are saying. you are still trying to attack (refute) the argument based on the particle size of SARS-CoV-2 itself, at least as far as I can tell, hence why I said "attack what they are arguing, not what they aren't."
As for the scientific studies you sent the links to me for, so far *none* (of the ones I have read) have stated that masks don't prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 from the infected person to a non-infected person. as far as I have read, they either 1: state that ILI's are not stopped by masks, neither by the infected person wearing a mask nor by the non-infected person wearing one to protect themselves (doesn't refer specifically to SARS-CoV-2), or 2: state that SARS-CoV-2 is not blocked by protecting *yourself* by wearing a mask, but does not evidence confirming or denying that an infected person, wearing a mask, can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. that is from all that I have read so far though, so I may have not read enough. I intend to read further when I get the time.

The mask mandates are a DIRECT CONSEQUENCE of believing that masks "do something" while science has quite frankly pointed out that masks do precious little even while following the best of mask usage guidelines (which 99.9% don't), and lockdowns and social distancing as well are ill motivated and at best based in incomplete science.
