^and more than likely these folks don't know the history of the Confederacy...the southern states got looted, people got raped, murdered, and many places were burned to the ground; everyone knows the south 'lost' but most don't know about the atrocities that occurred

Its why us Southerners still got a feiry hatred for the north and the west

Tho not as much hatred for the west

i think it's more of the reason why u have hatred for the north is the fact that the ones that got u into that war in the first place moved north

just to avoid the backlash from the south

also alot of the history was basically re-invented post war of 1812 so we really don't know the whole truth except thru oral history and archivists

Nah, its because of the destruction the North caused, plus they really fucked up with reconstruction 2 years into fixing everything

And also the North pretty much destroying the Souths entire economy that was already being put in shambles after the Tariff of Abominations

the destruction in the north was no where near as excessive ...and even the south had naval support from other nations

or so we thought ...history is flakey on that part

The South barely got anywhere into Northern territory so any destruction was very minimal in the North. And Britian and France held some support for the South, but didnt do much beyond selling weapons to us as they couldnt do any actual combat due to the threat of Russia

looking thru some england's naval historical archives a few months ago, apparently england's navy post war of 1812 went on rampage to wipe out the slave trade in the atlantic til post civil war

which seemed very odd according to most of usa's history

for that time period

Funny enough tho, Canada showed support for the Union, despite being a puppet country to Britian who showed support for the South

ya...history is strange when things don't add up to a global picture of events

wait til u discover there was multiple wars around the world going on around 1812, not just in usa

Also the biggest reason why Britian showed support for the South was because of the cotton trade, and a massive cotton shortage in both Britian and France due to the Union blockade
