Tbh, the 'Stupid Bastards' bit seems like...well, it was in bad taste. He tried to somehow appeal to their rougher nature, to try and look like "one of the guys" but it backfired. It came off as forced and awkward. Should he have said that? Nah. Should he be crucified over it? Nah. If he needs to be raked over the coals for anything, look at his 50 years in government. There are plenty of scandals and questionable behaviour to pick from that rightfully should've got him kicked out of office years ago. From using the N-word on several occasions on camera, to fondling children, again on camera.
