Kali is good but I usually run it in a VM or where I used to keep it on my old laptop till the laptop died unexpectedly. It's a great distro, but for day to day I prefer others.

I've never had the desire to do arch. I know it's not as hard as it used to be but I can do all the tinkering and customization I want without going all the way to Arch.

I enjoy Fedora for most things but for my laptop I run a security optimized version of Debian called PureOS. By having an apt based and an rpm based system, there is very few software I can't get to run on at least one of them.

yeah it does, but the sad thing is that the phone is 7 years old and most battery listings are either used ones or cheap clones

battery is pretty much nuked since the phone will occasionally reboot due to voltage drops

love the phone though due to its really good screen and custom rom support cause I legit have android 10

I want to save up more money for monitors and stands but I wanna get a lot better at coding first lol

Qubes is great but the way everything is isolated in VMs means if your compute restricted and/or on a laptop running off battery it may not be the best. It also limits your ability to use GPU acceleration that a lot of obvious programs like gaming and video editing but also non obvious programs like browsers. If you have a particular threat, it can be great but for day to day I prefer alternatives.

All I need now is the monitors I’m getting at the end of the month and my setup is complete for now
