man I have listened to that guy in a while
hey, so random q for you guys. I am in a guitar class and we have to right a rap song about a current event. (like gag, but whatever) I think I will try to go for a Andy Mineo vibe just because I can incorporate the guitar that way. Anybody have any ideas for a current event though? I only pay attention to 2A and politics. :/
I can't help with that, but why rap? It has ok story-telling abilities, but rock and country have a greater ability to story-telling
those genres are certainly easier to use imo. plus, rap on guitar?? ik it can be done, but its usually pretty difficult to make it work and considering most of the guys in my class are new to guitar, I really don't understand the logic. :/
thx anyways bro
idk, I might write about my dog and say "he's current"
If you really want to, rap about the election, drop the red pills
nah, its too early in the year, and I am fairly certain most of my class mates are beyond left wing. Some of the kids at this school will literally go out of there way to ruin people's reputation over the dumbest shit. I really don't want to get political. :(
thx tho
maybe if I was closer to grad, I wouldn't care so much, but I still have to live with these guys for another 7 months or so
Good point
Lol, for my english essay I'm going full right wing, I'm not holding anything back, I won't mind cause the few friends I have are all right wing anyways
gl to ya! xD tbf, so am I. I chose abortion because we had to write about social justice issue we feel passionate about. I already don't care about that class though because I accidentally left my mic on and my teacher heard me talking to my mom about how much I hate that class. xD :/
she is a nice teacher though, so we'll see how it goes
wait, does nu-metal count as a genre of rap?
I can easily write a nu-metal piece
I don't even know what that is, give me a sec
"Nu metal is a subgenre of alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge."
Sounds like it could work
its a weird genre, but ye
TFK is an awesome band
indeed. TFK and Red are probably the two bands that got me into metal
If u like metal u might like Silverstein
thx
Green Day is good. ๐
Thus far, I have a basic chorus written. The guitar used is a Schechter C1 on an EMG 85, tuned to drop Bb. I am thinking I am going to tune up to C# and re-rec tho. :/
i still dont know how I am going to rap over this tho xD
maybe if you made the beat a little bit quieter so you could hear the guitar a bit more, it would be easier to rap over? it sounds good, but im not sure if its really something to rap over, sounds like a good instrumental break. nicely done dude
ye, idk
i dont really like it
thanks though, I appreciate it
Im think maybe rap leading up the chorus?
but that might sounds weird..
your def right I need to adjust the audio levels though. The guitar sounds faint and is clipping really bad. :/
that little red in the bottom next to master is the visual proof your right
I re-recorded it at a higher tuning. I think it sounds a bit better, but idk. I might scrap this idea. :\
yeah, im not sure, I like singing but im not good with music making or instruments. what you have so far sounds like something a lot more chill. Ill try to give you an idea of what I think might work.
you have the original clip as an intro leading up, then the guitar fades out and you get the beat for an extra second then all silence while you just get one "tsch tsch tsch tsch" then some chill/relaxed rapping goes through with a really light beat, then once you finish the verse your last couple words blend in with the original clip and it goes for a short chorus.
I hope I explained my idea well
oh wow the changes for the second one make it sound completely different. and this might just be a difference in opinion/difference in preference, but I still think the beat could be a little bit quieter to mix with the guitar a little bit more
hmm, ye I like that idea, I think that'll be my next move.
as for the second clip, yes I haven
