Those didn't exist without regulatory capture, federal land allotments, lobbyists, etc.

Monopolies are pretty brutal, when they're actually pretty brutal.

And, really, in a laissez faire economy, the goal of any mega-successful business should indeed be to achieve a monopoly and eliminate the open market for themselves.
