Why does everyone hate on 1911s? 😂
good luck on the journey
don't hate 1911's, they are just not the Holy Grail the cheerleaders think they are
But the grip safety though-
well...there is that
<:TrumpSmile:720121948088041513>
and that awesome 8 ammo capacity...you can;t beat that!
😂 😂
Para Ordnance P12 .45 is a 1911 style pistol with 12 rounds
They made a 14 rounder too
My dad carries the 12 round
I think I'd grab a Browning Hi Power first.
oh, wait, I do own a Browning Hi Power!
Why tho
I don't know much about them
Hi Power in 9mm vs a 45 1911, no match there. The Hi Power wins handily
Lots of 1911s come in 9mm though
😅
Yes but then it really isn't a 1911. It's like taking a VW Beetle and stick a Porche badge on it
Hmm
AND lowers cost per round
I've only shot my mom's 9mm and my dad's .45 2 times each and I can handle the recoil for the 9mm better than the .45 but if I trained I could handle the .45 better. I like the size of the .45 but shot placement is better than size if you miss...
but then Hi Powers are essentially obsolete not too
9mm is also much flatter shooting than 45
45 has a markedly lower muzzle velocity = more bullet drop over distance
True true
Everybody "handles" the 9mm recoil better. Because there's less. Physics, yo.
And from 9 through .45, there's no real difference on how it affects whatever's in front of the muzzle.
it's another one of those....what's comfortable and effective for you.....go with what you like!
I do like me a Hi Power, too. Didn't realize how low the bore axis is. It's like the thing almost doesn't have recoil.
That and, with an all metal frame, the mass soaks up the recoil energy
That's why my Sig P238 is such a great gun even though it's such a small gun. The P238 weighs almost as much as my Shield 9 but fires 380 rounds, it's a joy to shoot.....and it's pocket gun sized
@Sage only with hollow points. FMJ is a different story. The .45 imparts more energy into the target than the 9mm. Physics, yo. Either way you are over penetrating. However the slower .45 with its larger surface area will impart more energy into the target.
And those 8 rd mags weigh less than my SD40 mags. I carry 4 8rd mags and have more capacity than my 40 with an extra mag in the same space.
And one more thing, almost every pistol is modeled after the 1911. So its not as bad as you think.
Love the gun drummer. His old videos are better tho.. his new ones aren't that good.

@Ironman Energy in handgun calibers is pathetic. They poke holes in an elastic medium. The wounds are indistinguishable by caliber. Real world stats back it up - failure to stop, one shot stop, etc., there's functionally no difference between 9, .40, .45.
Most pistols are evolved from Browning's designs (hard not to considering the guy invented the slide), not the 1911 in particular. And evolved is an important term there. The internal workings of a Glock or Sig are pretty damn far removed from the 1911. My Sig probably has half as many moving parts as a 1911 does, and that's something that makes a big difference in places like cost to produce, reliability, ease of service and durability.
BTW, you actually carry FMJ? Bro...
Lol!
Yeah, they go through doors better than hollows
I alternate hollow and fmj in my pistol mags
