> Is that a Stg. 44?
@Neithon It's the 22LR reproduction of the STG44

Yes, it's the GSG sold by ATI

The others are all milsurps

From top to bottom: Mosin 7.62x54R 1935 Izzy arsenal, Type 38 Arisaka 6.5 Jap 1934 Tokyo arsenal, M1895 Chilean Mauser 7mm Mauser and M95 Mannlicher carbine 8x56R

Thanks. The M95 is FEG buitl in Budapest

If you can find a "real" STG 44, be prepared to spend upwards of $30000

Never did really care for Enfields. Would like to add a Gras, a rolling block Springfield and a Chasspot

The rolling block is the Model 1871 Springfield, you cock the hammer then roll the breech block to the real to pop in the round. The trapdoor pops up and forward.

Yeah, that's the 1873 model

YOu can find 1873's $700 - $800....the rolling blocks are crazy expensive, only 10000 were made and the french ended up with then to fight off the Germans in the Franco-Prussian War.

Remington made a hell of a lot more of them

Remington made something like 80000 - 90000. The springfield made ones are the really rare ones. If you want to shoot them you need to find 50-70 Government in black powder.

not an everyday round anymore

Oooo. Sold your Colt Navy. That hurts!

Dude, that criminal!

Your rifles are gorgous

I do enjoy my Mosin the most. It is fairly indestructibe. I swear I could fill the receiver with gravel and it will load and fire.

Say hello to my not-so-little friend.

Mossberg 500 Tactical

I like the bayonet lug

Std equipment on the 590's

Oh dear, something seems to have followed me home from the gun show today.

I promise to give it a good home!

You need to go out an do some plinking with 22LR (rifles and pistols) before you graduate to the bigger stuff.

Don't listen to people who try to force you into specific guns or brans, it all comes down to what you like and feel comfortable with. Don't drink the Glockboi Kool-Aid, do some research and find what fits well for you.

Personally speaking I have 2 carry guns, an M&P Shield 9 and a Sig P238 (two different calibers and manufactures( but good guns for me

my wife carries an M&P EZ 380, it's what fits her.

Home defence is a Mossberg 500 Tactical

Do you plan to conseal carry?

you don't want to conceal carry a 1911, it's like trying to haul around a pack howitzer on your belt

best thing to do, go visit your locally owned LGS's and talk to the folks there about what you want the firearm to do and (the good ones) will invest the time to help find the best fit for you

stay away from the big box stores, they will simply try to sell you what they've been told to move to get bonuses

not smaller, your local gun sellers. not Bass Pro or Cabellas of Academy

here in Florida I recommend places like Shoot Straight and Shooters World.

The independant shops will also, usually, give you great service but may have a smaller selection

SCA, where are you in this world?

Oh hell, you're fucked!

I'm from the Balti area, there is a gun store in Timonium MD I can recommend....just have to remember the name

Continental Arms. 9603 Deerco Rd, Timonium MD 21093

I've sho there before, my mother has bought from them. They are good

Rent a car for the day if you need to.

I don't know the Socialist Republic of Northern Virginia that well to know good dealer there

pawn brokers can also be a good source for firearms purchases. you can find great deals there

good luck on the journey

don't hate 1911's, they are just not the Holy Grail the cheerleaders think they are

well...there is that

and that awesome 8 ammo capacity...you can;t beat that!

I think I'd grab a Browning Hi Power first.

oh, wait, I do own a Browning Hi Power!

Hi Power in 9mm vs a 45 1911, no match there. The Hi Power wins handily

Yes but then it really isn't a 1911. It's like taking a VW Beetle and stick a Porche badge on it

Hi Power = greater ammo capacity, better recoil management, better accuracy

AND lowers cost per round

but then Hi Powers are essentially obsolete not too

9mm is also much flatter shooting than 45

45 has a markedly lower muzzle velocity = more bullet drop over distance

it's another one of those....what's comfortable and effective for you.....go with what you like!

That and, with an all metal frame, the mass soaks up the recoil energy

That's why my Sig P238 is such a great gun even though it's such a small gun. The P238 weighs almost as much as my Shield 9 but fires 380 rounds, it's a joy to shoot.....and it's pocket gun sized

My latest acquisition.
