My dad went to buy guns yesterday at a gun store and almost every gun was sold out. In fact, my dad was only able to get a gun because nobody wanted one that was colored teal. The owner of the shop said that people have been buying guns like crazy. I had known that gun sales had been on the rise since March, but I had no idea it was like this.
Faith in humanity restored— although I hope my family will be able to find more guns to buy somewhere
People have been buying guns like they’re buying Goya after the ceo went based on live tv.
Just burned through a 100 rounds yesterday and my ears are still ringing....
.223/5.56 is not a good hunting round. I've been working on a conversion for my Remington 742 semi-auto .30-06 hunting rifle. Originally, it looks like this:
Converted using a floating forend by Accuracy-Systems and a collapsible stock from ATI, it can look like this:
Depending on whether you use the 18" barrel, or the full 22" barrel
Only problem is, my 742 has a squared top, and the Accuracy-Systems forend is for a rounded top. I gotta do some dremel-work.
Biggest mags I can find are 10s though. Hey, if you can't hit it in 10...
Fairly hefty
a little large for some game. I like .30 cal for general purpose. .30 is also 7.62, btw.
I'm considering buying an upper for the ar15 platform
Fair enough, I was also considering either a 5.56 or 7.62 upper
the 7.62would be a better all-purpose round
Ya but $$$
yeh
How about for handguns?
I'm considering a glock 19
I like my compact .45 Colt Commander. Sometimes short, fat, and slow do the job nicely.
Pros of subsonic?
No sonic boom.
Basically, that's all
Still loud?
Oh yeah, as loud as any other. But, if using a supressor, you don't have the extra sonic boom.
True but then you need a tax stamp
Also, sub-sonic doesn't pass through as easily
Yes, you need a tax stamp for the suppressor. Of course
I like the .45ACP for general purpose. It's big and heavy and slow, so if you hit something with it, that something knows it has been hit. Even works for bears.
Damn
I think I'd feel bad if I killed a bear
At least without the intention of eating it
a 9mm fmj can pass through an assailant, if you were being attacked, and that assailant will keep coming
Well, yes. We don't kill for sport. i live in a place, though, where bears occasionally get into neighborhoods.
Mine's coyotes mostly
Eastern PA and Jersey are known for bears
I would like to eat another moose though
Tasty
Now THERE you might need the .450
9 foot tall giants
