2020-11-10 21:12:28 UTC

Where is that

2020-11-10 21:12:46 UTC

Is that the place in south Alabama?

2020-11-10 21:13:32 UTC

@Odb
I prefer the Sig, but I broke my right hand several years ago and I don't like the roll on the back of many firearms like the CZ. The Sig has a slighter roll to it. I'm a Glock guy mostly because the grip has a fairly straight back up high and I can easily cut the polymer frame down.

My G19

Do you like the way glocks look? I mean I can’t love something that ugly lol

2020-11-10 21:16:15 UTC

it looks weird

2020-11-10 21:16:37 UTC

it doesnt have the imposing profile of the Desert Eagle

2020-11-10 21:16:45 UTC

I really don't care for the glock aesthetics.

2020-11-10 21:17:09 UTC

nor the iconic one of the Magnum Revolver variants, or the tried and true 1911

2020-11-10 21:17:45 UTC

it looks like something a child drew

2020-11-10 21:18:21 UTC

I am a visual creature so it’s gonna look good

2020-11-10 21:18:35 UTC

Goes for women too lol

2020-11-10 21:20:21 UTC

@Odb
Do not care one bit how they look, it ain't a beauty pageant and with the proper grip you can only see a few inches of barrel. I care that when I pull the bang switch it goes bang. I have somewhere around 100,000 rounds through a Glock of some kind with very d4mned few failures of the firearm.

2020-11-10 21:22:18 UTC

My first Glock on its fourth barrel.

2020-11-10 21:26:06 UTC

honestly if i wanted a 9mm pistol, i'd just get a CZ75 with a short barrel

2020-11-10 21:26:14 UTC

it looks nice and shoots nice

2020-11-10 21:37:05 UTC

In 1985 the CZ75 wasn't popular in the US yet, it was around, but finding one on a shelf was not an everyday event in the Houston area. When I moved away from .45 to 9mm for competition the options were limited and my search of gun shops in the area popped my first sight of the G17 above. It had been the shop owner's firearm but he didn't like it for some reason and I got a deal. I pushed 60 or 70 thousand rounds through it competitively before picking up a G17L. A few years later, I dislocated several vertebrae in my neck and shooting for competition ended. By then I loved the firearm and the feel of the grip and it was too late to change.

I've fired the CZ75, but don't like the roll of the grip, prefer a straighter back

2020-11-10 21:38:55 UTC

I have a Glock 19X, my issue with it isn't the look, because the thing looks 10x better with a light on it, my issue is the ergonomics, it fits my hand as well as a brick, and the backstrap just makes it worse. I can shoot it, but it's not as enjoyable as my 1911.

2020-11-10 21:43:53 UTC

@Alpha-57
I know what you mean about the palm swell, it's why I don't like a lot of firearms. In the mid 80's 9mm variants of the 1911 just weren't available, where I was anyway. If you wanted a 9mm your selections were limited. For competition the 9mm had less recoil than the 45acp and getting back on target was faster cleaner smoother for me. That switch brought me from bottom half to top third of the field, I get to shoot on day two anyway, if just the morning round.

2020-11-10 21:46:28 UTC

Take the 19 to any gunsmith and have them grind down the "lump". The glock polymer frames have enough meat to them that they can be adjusted a fair degree. I ground down that swell on my 17L and my EDC 19. My 43X is in the shop now, hope to get it back this week.
