Anyone do a E-form form 1 lately? I heard the wait times were reasonable. I'm thinking of trying to get ahead of the pistol brace problem...
@BrianC yes, under a month sometimes
Nice
just make sure you have all of the information exactly correct lol
Had that issue with a Form 4 before... was the shop's fault on the SN. It was pretty easy to fix with the ATF
yeah with the eform 1s it was super quick. 10 minute turnaround.
Do you have to do the engraving right away? I've got a trust. A lot of shops want to sell stuff but don't know much about SBR conversions. Someone recommended I get the engraving done before I submit the form 1.
Never done a form 1 before.
engrave before assembly is what I've always been told
Interesting
4 SBRs deep
haven't had any issues, and have moved states. if you do, be sure to file your 5320.20 and call them like weekly to be sure they got it and it was approved
you'll want to start the process and know your next address at least 2 months ahead of time just in case there's any issues
I goofed on my first file and forgot a checkbox or something silly like that. called, resubmitted. easy fix.
also be sure to know the state laws, can't really move to any state that doesn't allow NFA items
my sister is writing an essay, and she needs some good sources against gun control, anyone got anything good on hand?
One sec
That's a solid one
Here's another one
NPR is always a good source
Thanks!
I don't know what direction she's taking, she just needed something solid to base her argument on
@LegoGenius16 One specific issue that's been beaten to death on the pro-gun side: The FBI crime data clearly does not show that "assault rifles" are a problem. If you go to table 8... here is the data from 2013 to 2017: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8.xls
@LegoGenius16 You could also make a reasonable argument that states with very strict gun control have statically similar gun related homicides to those with little to no gun control beyond federal guidelines... you could also drill down to cities and look at homicides. The raw data is murky; but here is the link to the violent crime tables:
The general theme: More people were beaten, stabbed, etc than shot with rifles. Overwhelmingly, the number of gun related homicides are attributed to handguns. It does not really parse out legal possession vs. illegal possession. No one talks about the numbers in places like south Chicago... it doesn't fit the narrative.
I wrote a paper about that in an engineering statistics class. I used the Bay area vs. Phoenix and used a paired t-test, taking into account the argument of gun control in the two metro areas. Maybe I'm talking smack here; but unlike statistics used in humanities related fields, that used quantifiable numbers based on hard data not quantitative numbers based on a qualitative response... how many people "feel" gun control is needed is not a valid argument.
More people are killed each year by Fist and Hammers than AR-15s. And when I say killed, I mean murdered.
Accurate fact checks in the toon, in a saterical way.
AR or AK?

Pump action mossberg 12ga shotgun AR-15 weird
Wait there are shotgun caliber ARs now?! I need one.
12 gauge ar15 would be nice
