Sounds about right
I’m just saying, a book written by man, correct? And, man in inherently flawed, correct? So it would be egregious to think that the book wouldn’t be flawed. Especially after thousands of years of additions and redactions.
@kendikane88 Sure, but the context is important. And with context we know it's about not killing one another.

@MechaKnuckles yes I agree
The book can be flawed....but like..damn how do I put this into words
@TheSynical1 I'm not telling you translations aren't flawed. But the original text is extremely influenced by God and basically free of error. Sadly the original text is lost at this point of course.
Think about it. When you’re ready the words will come.
My husband and I have this conversation a lot as he used to be afraid of persecution a d doomsday prepping and stuff and he would say if it’s me or him, it ain’t gonna be me!
The amount of flawness in the book at the very least is very very little, because it didn't just have one guy translate the whole thing
And to that I say what would Jesus do?
It had alot of translators, and supervisers for those translators
As far as I know
I never understood the “FEAR GOD.” Nonsense. God is all loving, so why should I fear someone who loves me? He made me, correct? He knows who I am, how I think and what I feel. So I have no fear of God, I only return the love that is given to me.
If we are called to be like Jesus and we are in a “me or him situation” what should we do? Well, what DID Jesus do? Did he take a life to spare his own?

@TheSynical1 Like a Dad
Like a Father

@TheSynical1 fear does not mean be afraid. It means to have a reverence/respect.
@TheSynical1 fear is your friend
I’m not a God fearing man at all, I am a God loving man.
What does a Father do?
> @TheSynical1 fear is your friend
@ARCADEIUS
Negative, fear is imaginary.
He disciplines the child, but he doesn't want to
@TheSynical1 negative fear saves lives
He does it anyways because that is his job as a Father
and after
He shows his love to the child
> When a child throws a tantrum
@Book
I don’t strike fear into my son because he has a tantrum.
when the Child comes back to him
It's not that kind of Fear
let me put it to you this way
If you stray away from God
Bud. Fear is not the word you are looking for

@TheSynical1 may I ask how old you are?
He's not gonna continue protecting you
or well
Gimme a sec to phrase this right
> @TheSynical1 may I ask how old you are?
@kendikane88
I’m in my 30s hahaha we don’t need to be exact. It just makes me realize how far away I’m getting from being young.

@TheSynical1 ahhhhh same here!
When you stay by God's side, he says that he will protect you, but when you begin to stray away and not make him your top priority, what does he do? Nothing. So if you start to do some bad things, unless you ask for his help, he's just gonna let what can happen, happen to you
Always put God first, because he will take care of you
