What sucks about electric cars is that you need a 240v split phase to charge at a decent speed
they are a pain because you need 2 120 phases 180 degrees out of phase
So your breaker box needs 2 independent phases and a double pole breaker
Typically when they need above 120v in america they use 2 120 phases 120 degrees out of phase for 205v
So theres some wacky shit you need
That and you cant really recycle the batteries on many. The parts are extra expensive and they arnt as fun as gas cars.
Not to mention they can be hard to work on.
In the US most people install a 1450 plug on a dedicated 2 pole breaker sized for 50 amps, not much to it.
Maybe more complicated in other countries?
He was thinking of a 3 phase system. Most residential is single phase.
