I picked these dice towers up off Etsy super cheap, and painted them for my kids.
(Primer was black- I made them look like stone and painted the cross in their favorite colors).

For those of you who have used it, is Fimo polymer clay durable?
Also, polymer clay is always so hard to find on Amazon, besides Sculpey (which I've had bad experiences with).
Depending on how much you need, what you're making, etc. you can buy plumber's epoxy putty in hardware stores. Works like regular clay, although you have to get it shaped fairly quick.
It is sandable, carvable, and dries hard without cracking.
That sounds like it might work really well for certain projects. Generally, how expensive is it? do you know if it can be painted?
It's about three or four bucks a package, and it can be painted.
