China released the virus to reduce its elderly population since it current society couldnt handle the mass population who are over 60+ years. They started with removing the 1 child per family act to have more young people to support the economy. Statistics shown it wont be enough to unload the massive burden of a not working elderly population so they decided to engineer an existing virus in their military lab in Wuhan to target people with weak immune system and other complications the elderly most suffer from.
Once released they had to keep it quiet by capturing journalists and locking them up. once it reached to a point where its a known fact that the virus exists they began faking body count reports.
The virus was clearly engineered as it had some odd side effects but they knew it will mutate into a more stable strain of covid eventually as it roams from person to person naturally blaming it on an older strain of bat flu.
The timing of the release was also triggered by the new china-US deal as the chinese gov thought its the best way to retaliate for the economy war it was losing with the US with a mindset of "If our economy is boned, we gonna bone the rest of the worlds economy", knowing all the 1st world countries would cripple their own economy to deal with the virus.

Actually it had to do with JFK planning to overthrow the banking industry, and essentially getting out of debt.
