and naturally they go "GOTCHA AH HA! WE KNEW IT"
Insane. My lefty friend from HS gets on PC at 5am like "Couldn't sleep scare of the rise of white supremacy"
Trump is probably better at the job than I am. I'd just be like "Why don't you roll the tape from the last time you asked? NEXT QUESTION PLEASE."
He was citing said incident he was staged Trump could not "simply deny it"
and it's like, fuck if their BS doesn't work on a lot of smart people
Yeah, it's called gaslighting.
It's just insanely effective
Eventually my response would just be "Deja vu".
Yeah I do wish um we could hire some folks to assist in that process
BUt you know
I think to your real point -- it woulnd't matter
Like when Crowder goes around showing folks that NC video (first in clip then in entirety)
and he's like "Change you mind at all there?" most say "a tiny bit" like they are still unwilling to accept
When solid proof still isn't enough, I give up.
Well naturally folks need time to process the tear down
and more over it actually has to really be like inception
e.g. "Fake news" versus "What if the news isn't always the truth?"
Like they kinda need to be the genesis of the transformation versus we externalize that for them if that makes sense. IMO anyways
Well yeah... it took me a while to even _consider_ questioning germ theory. It had been so deepy ingrained in my head, repeated so often, "catch" a cold, "catch" a flu. Viruses allegedly floating around in the air. Invisible, undetectable, untraceable. Then suddenly...
"What if everything I've been taught... is bullshit?"
Right you know it's ironic you say that because a lot of lefties I know do subscribe to that concept of like subjective truth, which you would think would lend to actually more willingness to actually entertain opposing views but oddly indirectly I think validates their stance -- as I guess they believe in their "superior reasoning" they have already conjectured the absolute truth by virtue of it's 'consensus'
The "consensus" argument has no weight. Even if Flat Earth was believed to be accurate via consensus, it would still not be the truth.
Oh I for sure agree yeah and often make exactly that counter point when discussing. e.g. slavery was at one point "consensus" does that make it right?
That tends to break their brain a bit
Slavery used to be normal. It's awesome that we got rid of it, at least in the USA.
But they tend to then go a bit wild on that point saying it was forced by authority and not consensus
and it's like ugh fine maybe but then yes flat earth or sun resolves around earth
etc.
What if the consensus is the authority? lol
Oh a fine point I will start using yeah
It's a nice way to convey the MSM in that context yeah
cause yeah "consensus of scientists on climate" and they are bought in
Why are we still complaining about slavery anyway? Abraham Lincoln. 1865? The PAST. It's GONE. We remember history, but do not fret over it. <:thinking:726878987837636698>
I mean I think they want to eliminate it -- so as to bring it back
Just in different forms
A prison of the mind and consensus with the authoritative collective - is what?
Well.
History is always being deleted, changed, just to fit one Political Group's view.
It happens here too.
They want to change the textbooks because "it is biased against marcos"
That Marcos guy became a crony with friends btw
Basically the very worst capitalist I saw.
He did good on his first term, but after 1969, well, we didn't catch up with our neighbours
We also had a bad famine
Oh sure well right I mean I would say any radical extremity is fraught with it's own issues. I certainly would not want to re-visit Sinclair's Jungle after all
