Nice!!! Thank you for voting!

2020-10-26 19:52:04 UTC

why human life? what makes it sacred? We kill brain dead people, criminals, political enemies

2020-10-26 19:54:01 UTC

I don’t distinguish between human or animal, only the reasoning or rationale behind taking the life.

2020-10-26 19:54:26 UTC

If there was say an alien species on the same evolutionary level as humans, would it be oky for them to have abortions seeingas they're not human?

2020-10-26 19:55:17 UTC

Life isn't sacred, we kill life all the time, bacteria, plants, animals. So just because a foetus or such is "alive" doesn't necessarily grant it a right to life

2020-10-26 19:55:23 UTC

I don’t see how an entirely different race of sentient beings with their own history, societal progressions, biology, etc. would seek the opinion of humanity on that.

2020-10-26 19:56:05 UTC

If you can see a creature of any kind as just a clump, good for you. I don’t and never will.

2020-10-26 19:56:20 UTC

It is a thought experiment, if the fact something is human gives it the right to life, then logically follows a sentient separate species could be killed all the want, even if we could hold conversations with them

2020-10-26 19:56:26 UTC

I value life and it’s purpose. But death is not always nefarious. It’s a perfectly natural thing.

2020-10-26 19:56:53 UTC

natural simply means it exists, given that supernatural is unproven. Logical fallacy appeal to nature

2020-10-26 19:56:57 UTC

I don’t know who you’re having a conversation with but I don’t think it’s me.

2020-10-26 19:57:30 UTC

The conversation on abortion was relegated to this chat

2020-10-26 19:57:31 UTC

I literally said above that I don’t distinguish between human or otherwise. Life is life.

2020-10-26 19:57:38 UTC

Oh, ok.

2020-10-26 19:57:43 UTC

> Life isn't sacred, we kill life all the time, bacteria, plants, animals. So just because a foetus or such is "alive" doesn't necessarily grant it a right to life
@Sengorn Leopardae It’s human.. so can I kill you, because life isn’t of value? NO! It’s immoral, a human is different than bacteria, a plant, an animal..

2020-10-26 19:57:50 UTC

@SheWhoMustNotBeNamed I was a part of the conversation, but I am back to work now. You can jump in now.

2020-10-26 19:58:07 UTC

Trying to nail down the exact logical argument behind exactly when abortion is valid or invalid

2020-10-26 19:58:12 UTC

why is human different?

2020-10-26 19:58:18 UTC

prove it, not declare it

2020-10-26 19:58:21 UTC

I just wanted to make sure I hadn’t accidentally responded in lieu of someone else. 🤣

2020-10-26 19:58:35 UTC

For me, conception is life.

2020-10-26 19:58:49 UTC

It is life, but why does it have a right to remain alive?

2020-10-26 19:59:02 UTC

we kill life all the time, bacteria are life

2020-10-26 19:59:07 UTC

My body my choice ends when I choose to have sex and risk pregnancy. Should it result, it’s my “burden” to bare.

2020-10-26 19:59:14 UTC

So are you saying that I should be able to kill you without repercussions

2020-10-26 19:59:25 UTC

why should you not be able to?

2020-10-26 19:59:29 UTC

> why is human different?
@Sengorn Leopardae The intellectual ability to create what we’ve created.

2020-10-26 20:00:16 UTC

It’s not even that, you’re being obtuse by not even moving your questions to fit the flow of the conversation. There have been a couple of reasons presented but you haven’t responded to any yourself.

2020-10-26 20:00:29 UTC

My practical reason for making murder of sapient humans is that it'd result in a society that couldn't trust each other or form civilization due to the mistrust. Therefore my personal quality of life would be at stake, so I want it to be forbidden

2020-10-26 20:00:31 UTC

You just keep asking why.

2020-10-26 20:00:48 UTC

> why should you not be able to?
@Sengorn Leopardae General morals. You’re genuinely a monster if you believe human life is at your disposal.

2020-10-26 20:01:10 UTC

^

2020-10-26 20:01:24 UTC

And I further that to any life.

2020-10-26 20:01:27 UTC

Hello 👋

2020-10-26 20:01:33 UTC

Also hi hi <@717034223659384934>

2020-10-26 20:01:50 UTC

> I am new
<@717034223659384934> Welcome 😜

2020-10-26 20:01:54 UTC

The reasons are vague and unsupported, this is the Socratic method. I ask questions until we get to the absolute fundamentals. My goal is not to defend a decision, because I haven't made one yet. I know know that you can abort sometime before birth, and after fertilization.

2020-10-26 20:01:56 UTC

Make sure you read the rules so you don't get in trouble

2020-10-26 20:02:03 UTC

And welcome this is a great server ☺️

2020-10-26 20:03:00 UTC

No one turns you in any direction darlin. All anyone can do is give you the info and you make the changes for yourself. Thank yourself too.

2020-10-26 20:03:00 UTC

"general morals", that isn't a very logical solution, it is devoid of substance entirely. The epitome of "because I said so"
