So
I mean
marriage is suppose to be a lifelong commitment. if you're not willing to work through the problems then don't get married
What do you expect her to do in that situation?
You can do that for one generation before the cognitive dissonance gets out of hand.
Sugar Goat, you are really sounding like a hardcore right-authoritarian, who is interested in promoting the goals of one religion
@Meryl.140.15 agreed but perfectionism is impossible aint it
People gon' fuck up real good
don't have to be perfect
thats why i support traditional marriage, as an atheist, but i acknowledge that it isnt as possible or as effective as it used to be, or should be....
you do if you KNOW when you should get married to someone
> You have NO clue what you are talking about, Rational guy. Women will always choose singleness over mistreatment if they have that option.
@Sugar Goat Abuse had nothing to do with the question you asked. You asked what is the benefit to a woman of being the "happy home maker" not, what is the benefit for a woman who gets the snot beaten out of her by a psycho.
Why should I choose not to be selfish and live only for my fleeting happy high? I'll be conservative if it gets me the society I would be happy to live in. I'll be a leftist if it doesn't.
People change, marriages shift. And sadly we have created a society that a LOVES irresponsibility
im hesitant to get married in the future seeing how some people in my life have had their lives ruined by people they thought they would be together forever with. role models of mine.
So I agree, But I cannot expect everyone to follow that
But no, people can be non-religious and still be conservative, I don't get what point you are trying to make @Sugar Goat
@Deleted User lol physical abuse isn't the only kind of mistreatment
Okay but FUCK the dating scene right now
especially for conservatives
> Look, Tyler. If you're not honored to have my sister, Jill, and I on your skype server, then you ain't black.
@Deleted User I knew this was the real Joe Biden!
freakin YIKES out there
Yes, but that is still not the question you asked.
> So I agree, But I cannot expect everyone to follow that
@MrAconite Congratulations, you have achieved "American Freedom"
It's actually really easy if you're a Christian who believes in the sanctity of marriage. Just saying.
Hahahah exactly
that's true, im a frim believer in that nobody ever stops growing, you can be 70 and still learn and grow from age 50 yknow
@Sugar Goat agreed but you cannot predict peoples insanity at times is what im saying
This is coming from a catholic hahah
As long as you aren't a moron and don't think you can make some kind of idiot deal with God and do X and get a perfect marriage.
@Tyler Zed Seeing how we are around the same state, wanna come grill for the 4th?
Growing up seeing other families go through divorce was freakin WEIRD
were my proud americans at?
im betting every person that has been married for 20+ years can say their marriage was far from perfect
But I'm blessed to have the family I grew up in
MrAconite, I have a cousin whose husband literally went insane
everywhere
He was dangerous around their kid and wouldn't get medicated
:/
Sorry to hear that
