It's the same with Jurassic Park. There are a ton of differences between the book and movie, but they're both really good.

But the Ender's GAme movie was horrible and the book was a masterpiece

Jurassic Park was an awesome book, so was Lost World. The Lost World movie though, the ending was terrible

It's definitely not a movie that you can really rewatch though, even if you didn't know the twist originally. It's a one and done, but not in a bad way.
