I feel bad for minneapolis
Their cops got defunded
@Lucario I was driving home from airsoft one night with an airsoft gun in my pocket and a larger one on the floor. Got pulled over for doing 70 on the highway that had a posted limit of 70 during the day, 65 at night (that highway is now 75 at all hours). I told the officer about the airsoft guns. He had me step out of the vehicle, ejected the "clip" then just kinda chatted with me on the tailgate for like 20 minutes. Pretty sure he just stopped me because he was bored. It's pretty much the only warning I've ever gotten. (I used to get a lot of speeding tickets)
I have a motto: "DO GOOD, BE GOOD" If you can't even deal with police officers, fuckouttahere
We do have to go by their rules for their safety, and our own. There's no doubt that there ARE corrupt cops. However, not ALL cops are corrupt. We should treat each case individually, instead of as a whole, just like they treat us: Individually.
PolIcE aRe NoT oUr FriEnDs
does that make them food?
oh course police area our friends, what about them being a policeman makes it so they can't be our friend
> We need to teach our children that police ARE NOT our friends, and how to interract with them to come out on top
@SubtleSara Police are the ones that risk their lives daily to protects the citizens. To say they aren't our friends is horrible. Do you want them to be defunded?
I learned in Finding Nemo that things are either friends or food.

@AMERICANFREEDOM [CEO OF FREEDOM] You're right. They're NOT our friends. They are our community's FAMILY. We should treat them like such.
friends can still be family

@Poco I think you misunderstood me, there is a protocol for both police and us, that isn't being taught, such as keep both hands on the wheel when you get pulled over.
The officer should feel safe to approach you

@SubtleSara Strange. That should be taught in Driver's Ed...

@Okori Inaka yes it should
At the end of the day the police officer wants to go home too. They are human just like everyone else.
We're not political
Uh
I want to go home at the start of the day. Work sucks.
I thought this was a different server. I dun goofed.
What I was taught is that when you pull over, you turn off your car, and drop your keys out of the window, and then put your hands on the steering wheel, so the cop knows you aren't going anywhere.
Extreme, but I'll allow it
honestly, I think it's more of a "waking up sucks" kind of thing. I don't really hate my job, I just don't like waking up to an alarm.
Some now even say to put your hands against the roof of that vehicle.
I turn my vehicle off but I have never heard of dropping your keys
If it's night time, turn your dome light on, absolutely
Tell your officer you wish to comply fully
Absolutely.
You don't have to toss your keys out the window, at all.
I usually toss my baggie of weed out the window, though.
That would seem sus to me.
BE GOOD, DO GOOD
You can't be jailed unless you fail these two simple rules
- and the very best thing? Comply, and TALK to the officer. talk about nominal things. Your day at work, shopping, anything BUT the stop, and often? The officer will realize you're just a normal joe or jane trying to get from A to B to take care of family. Most often? You walk away with a warning, or a small speeding ticket that can be taken care of at the court right there and then.
No one told black people this, and here we are
THese are important issues
Was Arizona officially lost?
