there is no way around that
of course we could argue that they should have just wiped the password once I click on reset in the first place
if they hash it at all
could just be some good old plain text, no?
of course it could but I doubt a company like Lenovo does something that embarrassing
implying this didn't happen before
The more you doubt, the more they do stupid shit.
does anyone here use keepass/lastpass?
>proprietary
@fuckthapolice writes his own software
for everything
yes
i writme my passwords down physically for maximum securioty
I have a SQLite DB inside a LUKS container
and my own algorithm to generate super complex and yet easy to remember passwords
i just use different stanzas of the free software song as passphrases
@fuckthapolice on sticky notes stuck to your screen I hope

as long as there is no "dirty maid" in calculations
its legit method
dirty maid?
I'm listening
aka no-one has physical access .. and you dont work so that window is behind you
(not related to evil maid what is rootkit attack well yes technicaly these are same attack vector but semantics _evil maid_ is to be used only for rootkit+hardware)
where ar dirtymaid is simply using open computer )
some streamer chick smashed her monitor once, and then moved her webcam to show the damage
and she had all of her passwords on stickies on the monitor

Reminds me of this one time I was at some dude's work place with a part of my school class, waaay back when. He had to type in a password on the computer, and I'd already spotted the postit.
He was typing slowly and obviously missed a letter.
"You need [letter] there at the end" I said, and he looked at me like I was some sort of autist wizard. 👍
