kinda been lately thinking about canada or australia

2017-11-20 00:02:25 UTC

but i also kinda wanna study in some EU country

2017-11-20 00:02:37 UTC

both are pretty hard to emigrate to if you are not a high skilled professional

2017-11-20 00:02:42 UTC

yeah

2017-11-20 00:02:48 UTC

i only got programming education atm

2017-11-20 00:03:03 UTC

Canada has some kind of intransparent "point system"

2017-11-20 00:03:25 UTC

and Australia is case-based decision

2017-11-20 00:03:38 UTC

well australia wouldve been more for short time thing

2017-11-20 00:03:45 UTC

with holiday VISA

2017-11-20 00:03:46 UTC

visa

2017-11-20 00:03:58 UTC

What would you actually like to do abroad?

2017-11-20 00:04:02 UTC

Study? Work?

2017-11-20 00:04:09 UTC

ideally both

2017-11-20 00:04:16 UTC

Are you willing to learn a language?

2017-11-20 00:04:22 UTC

not really tbh

2017-11-20 00:05:16 UTC

That makes it pretty difficult, most EU countries will want you to learn the local language to C1 (B2 for math and compsci) to give you a student visa for a Bachelors study

2017-11-20 00:05:46 UTC

And outside of the EU, many countries don't allow you to work on a student visa

2017-11-20 00:05:49 UTC

i mean im european so i dont need visa since free travel n shit?

2017-11-20 00:06:07 UTC

You still need C1/B2 to be admitted to the study

2017-11-20 00:06:13 UTC

Especially Germany is a pain in the ass

2017-11-20 00:06:14 UTC

thats true

2017-11-20 00:06:35 UTC

well i was banking on english degrees anyway

2017-11-20 00:06:39 UTC

Switzerland goes that far and asks you to take the ECUS test which includes two of the national languages

2017-11-20 00:07:38 UTC

English degrees as in studying English, or in English?

2017-11-20 00:08:10 UTC

@porco what language do you talk with the natives there?

2017-11-20 00:08:16 UTC

in english

2017-11-20 00:09:42 UTC

@Julian I am native speaker in both Italian and German, also I have C2 in French, so I usually speak all 3 languages on a daily basis depending on which language is the most comfortable to whoever I'm speaking. Especially in the business-world in Switzerland you will encounter it often, that you have people from let's say Geneva, Lugano and Zurich sitting in an office

2017-11-20 00:10:32 UTC

@SmugJew You will have a hard time finding English Bacherlor studies outside of English speaking countries

2017-11-20 00:10:56 UTC

thats probably true

2017-11-20 00:11:47 UTC

I can tell you one exception about Germany, which is that "International BusinessĪ… economy degrees are in English, but those are usually restricted and you need to apply / go through a selection process

2017-11-20 00:12:05 UTC

Just go to Israel

2017-11-20 00:14:15 UTC

Are international students in Israel allowed to work on a student visa?

2017-11-20 00:15:05 UTC

just found the answer myself: no they can't. not at all

2017-11-20 00:20:44 UTC
2017-11-20 00:20:53 UTC
