Oh sweet summer child
All your opinions are second hand already, might as well get second hand shit everywhere
Obviously you don't go for turntables or 60's coffee tables
Durable wooden furniture is often quite cheap
I bought my turntable from the place I work at. has bluetooth, built in speakers. 35 bucks. Not bad for the price
Your desk sounds depressing as fuck tho
It's actually pretty Gucci. Solid as fuck, plenty of space, and I can add/modify to it as I please
Compared to my old 140 dollar desk that had a set layout, I would never go back
I got a hardwood desk for free, used some nearly free veneer to re do the top in a meranti style and I was set
Calling it 'modifying' instead of 'i can do whatever i want to it since its ugly already' does sound better yes
I don't find it ugly, though. It's literally a flat slab of wood with a little platform for my monitor
>veneer
How utterly disgusting
Also, my desk has an adjustable height, so I made it the perfect height to fit my minifridge under it. Feels good
I used to keep it full of booze, but ever since I went sober, It's full of fucking la croix
good for you for going sober though m8
I'm the same
about to hit the 6 month mark I think
same here, must be 23h by now
tfw gonna make it
It's not that I had a PROBLEM with drinking, per se. I only got drunk maybe 1-2 times a month. It's just expensive, high in calories, and frankly 2 hours of good times aren't worth 24 hours of feeling sick as fuck.
yeah it's not worth it
not keen to be a bloated fat faced drunk again
you'd rather be a pale lanky <:thenk:329322130804047872> ?
I hung out with a buddy last night, and the entire time he was drinking Seven and Sevens, and it was kind of eye opening. Like "Is this how annoying *I* am when I'm drunk?"
@JHWH I won't go full Transience, don't worry
and yeah, some of my friends are borderline/full alcoholics, opened my eyes too
my uncle died last month from acute alcohol abuse too
collapsed on the way to get glasses for his whisky
Condolences
felt like the right time to hang it up when I stopped
it's alright mang
he was in and out of hospital for years from alcoholism
was kind of expected
I'm lucky in that no one else in my family is a drinker, either, so I'm not really genetically predisposed to alcoholism.
My dad never drinks, my mom has like, a glass of wine with dinner, and my brother makes moonshine but doesn't drink it himself
Tfw sober for 4 days <:smail:379313786193969152>
I mentioned both my parents, so it's somewhat relevant
Must be new record for me
Also, >Implying my big brother didn't contribuite to my genes
I am a southern boy, after all
