I am saying that 98% of people accused of a crime over there go to jail.... the 2% must provide overwhelming evidence that they didn't do it
Ohhh
Ok I get it
reasonable doubt there doesn't exist... look at Europe and Australia more they are closer to the USA culturally than Japan... Japan is strange even to most Asian countries
i heard japan population is decreasing
due to people deciding to date electronics over other people
which is a good thing Meryl.... it is a small nation with over 150m people on it
that is part of it 😛
is it a good thing?
for them yes
Wait but if they have a high conviction rate doesn’t that mean there are less than 0.3 per 100k?
i think the culture is good to
persevere
conviction means they were proven to have committed the crime
murder rate is just the number of people killed by other people
as I said... Japan is strange... to everyone....
i might be ignorant here but isn't america the only place where it's innocent until proven guilty
So if those people are actually innocent should the real rate be lower
there is a saying over there and I am paraphrasing... the nail that sticks out will be hammered down... or something
> So if those people are actually innocent should the real rate be lower
@Violin nope
you can convict 10 people for the same murder... but it only brings up the murder rate by that 1 death
it seems like most places it's guilty until you can prove innocence and if you can't prove innocence well then fuck you
So the justice system is just broken there
which is what a lot of these antifa, blm people are trying to turn america into
guilty until proven innocent just like everywhere else
> So the justice system is just broken there
@Violin oh no... it is quite effective
is it?
> is it?
@Meryl.140.15 basically I was referring to if multiple people kill the same person or help kill the same person you can convict all of them but he murder rate won't go up by the number convicted only killed
Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, the Framers of the Constitution met in Philadelphia and set our country on a bold course toward forming a more perfect Union.
Today, we celebrate the signing of our U.S. Constitution—the bedrock of the rule of law for our Nation.
