hm. so I thought about that for a long time, and I disagree with you. I think Flag Etiquette should be respected, and I despise assholes destroying the flag. I think people burning the flag in public should be slapped with arson charges, because I fully believe in freedom of speech and expression, but what theyre doing is not only something I hate, but also dangerous. win win way of handling it. When it comes to the flag being used transformatively, I see a lot of it being used in either a respectful way (cool ass shirts, those flag boards like the one zed has in the back of his videos and ABL has in his, the thin blue line version of the flag, etc.) and others are used in a really patriotic way which I also support.

Flag Etiquette is important, dont get me wrong, but I like the idea that as Americans we can turn the flag into other things that represent our love for the Country/Flag, and our patriotism. in other places you cant even say anything bad about the flag without going to jail.

its also against Flag Etiquette to have a tattered and torn up flag, but thats one of the most patriotic and badass things in my opinion. a picture of a tattered American flag still waving through war, hardship, suffering, and death... shows the sacrifice, the blood spilt, and the sweat involved in the defense of what she is, and what she stands for.

So Im torn on that Flag Etiquette argument, I believe actual flags need to be respected and properly handled, but transformative things in the design of the flag are not just cool, but a good thing and exemplifies our freedom of speech and expression.

Whats more patriotic than wanting a representation of that flag with you at all times? Flying a flag is awesome, but you cant do that everywhere all the time.
