It is about the person who is identifying themselves
also just because it was a small part of society doesn't mean it was generally accepted by general society
Exactly
I know that
Can you site your sources rq?
I'll do the same
GG @nathaniel, you just advanced to level 3!
I wrote an article on this a few months back. Hopefully your sources can give me more insight :)
Just because some people are different doesn't mean that they are another gender. everybody's bodies are different. I totally agree with that. But to say gender roles or behaviour of someone of a certain sex is totally socially constructed is very wrong.
Much of it is expressions of biological realities.
Never said you were wrong about the dysphoria part
Gender not sex
Separate ideas
Sex is biological
Science
Gender is sociocultural
Not saying you're wrong
Just saying we have different outlooks on a topic with no true right answer
The human brain and body are among the most complex structures of the known universe
To a certain extent. Sex is more chromosome and genetically based. Gender can vary across cultures
on the doctor birth certificate it says the sex of the baby, male or female
But it really depends
Yes the sex you're right
But chromosomes are raerly checked
You could be XXY and never know
search up the definition of gender on google
It is an international foundation. It's fine to be skeptical. I don't trust the government lmao
I check more sources than just Oxford dictionary
But I still will :)
search up gender and then search up sexes
"especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones"
Google like you said
yeah
"refers to the biological differences between males and females, such as the genitalia and genetic differences. “Gender” is more difficult to define, but it can refer to the role of a male or female in society, known as a gender role, or an individual's concept of themselves, or gender identity."
Thats what I said-
there's more definitions to it, that's just one of them
Exactly-
ok
