public option is similar to like Germany or France, granted in the us it would be somewhat different
its a option
if you want goverment healthcare you get it
I'd want private school to be included as an option
hospitals would still be private
Doesn't mean it will be good but you'll get it
not all public
wdym in the us private school is an option
as for healthcare, the best system currently is a mix of both public and private, unless it can be treated like a business and lower costs
No I'm just saying I wouldn't want all schooling to be public
I would want private in as well. Also Canada has private, I went to a private school lol
i mean, countries with socialized medicine do pay less per capita, but the issue is sense there is political tensions you run into shortages of for example mris( your from canada you should know).
its not a economic constraint
its just politicans being dumb
Yup long waiting lists
atleast in the us its not a economic one its a political one
ya ik
Yeah that's no bueno
So I agree, the option to have private would be nice.
healthcare I mean
Probs not much for debating between us, but I can see how healthcare is an ongoing debate in the US
yes because politicians dog whistle and strawman
its sad
Since it's extremely politicized
and republicans(alot of dems to) fall for it
@Mystika you seem smart look into modern monetary theory when you get a chance
Also big pharma, you guys pay like $100+ for insulin and here we pay less than $30
Waiting lists and the inability to get fast treatments is a recurring struggle for countries with free public healthcare. You can look at Canada with their waiting lists. Even some of the countries that people think are the best have horrible wait times. Norway is an example. You can wait years with a terrible issue that makes life hell just to get treatment. Taxes are ridiculously high as well, but I already know it would be argued that the free healthcare makes up for it. People in these countries tend to get private healthcare as soon as they can if they intend on using it.
That is why I think Canada should have a private option also
Which we don't
taxes dont fund federal programs in the us
For those who have the money and want to choose the care they get
idc about taxes atleast for now
Tbh plenty of things in the US are politicized
You can thank the last couple decades of corruption for that
From both left and right
I'm not talking about US healthcare
But more so democrats
I'm talking about other countries healthcare
I even noted an example for you
