They were never going to pickup a case like this. It was filled with crazy witnesses and absurdities and misinformation even after they got past states bullying other states on their own laws.

2020-12-12 04:28:58 UTC

By the way, I am not a supporter of Trump nor Biden. I just want to be clear on that.

2020-12-12 04:29:41 UTC

by not taking the case they clarified that there is no constitutional issue

2020-12-12 04:29:44 UTC

🤷 I dont like either of them.

2020-12-12 04:29:54 UTC

I think this will still be done, just not with the Texas case

2020-12-12 04:32:08 UTC

No, they dropped it on standing, not the constitutional issue. Two justices dissented and said they believed it had standing.

2020-12-12 04:33:07 UTC

The constitution issue at hand is rather the governor's, courts, and secretary of state have the authority bro change election laws without the input of the stat legislators.

2020-12-12 04:33:27 UTC

The scotus was never going to save Trump. He thinks they are his minions. They should listen to the federal courts.

2020-12-12 04:33:40 UTC

standing as per the constitution: "The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections."

2020-12-12 04:36:36 UTC

suppose they rule on that narrow issue that extending the deadline past the day of election was unconstitutional according to the US Constitution, then the result is to throw out the votes that arrived after election day, guess what the result would be ... Biden wins PA. Just look on PA website where it says "These vote totals do not include any votes from mail ballots received between 8 p.m. on election day and 5 p.m. the following Friday." https://www.electionreturns.pa.gov/

2020-12-12 04:38:24 UTC

@Trista this was actually thrown out of US District court I believe ... let me find links for you

2020-12-12 04:39:47 UTC

I'm not sure where you are getting the issue of extending past the day of the election. Obviously I did not read all the briefs, but I have followed this via several sources that oppose each other and I skimmed several of the briefs.

2020-12-12 04:39:47 UTC

@Trista, you just advanced to level 2!

2020-12-12 04:41:05 UTC

Gish galloping on the scotus isnt going to work

2020-12-12 04:41:52 UTC

Gish galloping? I haven't heard that before.

2020-12-12 04:43:21 UTC

It's an argumentation style where you take a bunch of claims and smash them together even if individually many of them have little or no merit

well this is the main PA one that was appealed all the way to the Supreme Court and they refused to hear it letting a lower US District court ruling stand https://www.npr.org/2020/12/08/944230517/supreme-court-rejects-gop-bid-to-reverse-pennsylvania-election-results

This comment by Trump was not concerning Texas case https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1337494507756072961?s=21

2020-12-12 04:46:56 UTC

What’s your proof

2020-12-12 04:47:09 UTC

His track record

2020-12-12 04:47:25 UTC

Wdym

2020-12-12 04:47:51 UTC

Sorry, it is getting hard to track all of these cases. LOL. I'm checking out for the evening, but I've enjoyed having a real discussion. I still disagree at this point, but I will look at that case.

2020-12-12 04:47:57 UTC

Wtf is up with that wisdom and courage nonsense?

2020-12-12 04:48:22 UTC

I swear this lady is smoking kraken rather than releasing one

2020-12-12 04:48:22 UTC

It wasn’t the case Trump was banking on either

2020-12-12 04:48:47 UTC

He's making bank but it's not on court cases.

2020-12-12 04:49:26 UTC

You have the receipts?

2020-12-12 04:49:45 UTC

These court cases is Trumps best business venture yet 😂

2020-12-12 04:49:45 UTC

@Dedkraken, you just advanced to level 27!

2020-12-12 04:49:50 UTC

Cost of all of this litigation?

2020-12-12 04:50:18 UTC

Ask Robert his best guess on attorneys fees and court costs and costs of investigations

2020-12-12 04:50:21 UTC

about $7M ... out of over $200M raised

2020-12-12 04:50:39 UTC

The cost of the litigation is coming from the legal fund

2020-12-12 04:50:58 UTC

The bulk of the cash is going to the Trump fund

2020-12-12 04:51:00 UTC

Duh

2020-12-12 04:52:27 UTC

Ask for an audit

2020-12-12 04:52:43 UTC

An audit of what? 😂

2020-12-12 04:52:46 UTC

I was wrong $8M ... "According to the most recent FEC report, Trump has spent $8.8 million on legal efforts to overturn the election but has used that effort to raise more than $200 million, sending hundreds of email pitches to donors begging them to contribute to his quest to save the election from being stolen by dastardly Democrats." https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/12/08/whos-going-tell-gop-base-that-theyre-being-scammed/
