hunting AND use of firearms, we have hunting regulations specific to hunting
Dude.
29.304 Restrictions on hunting and use of firearms by persons under 16 years of age.
It's literally in the name.
Read the statute.
use or possession
It's about hunting and training/target practice.
Restrictions on possession or control of a firearm. No person 14 years of age or older but under 16 years of age may have in his or her possession or control any firearm unless he or she
it is in the context of this.
possession, or control... its not even debatable ive lived here 40yrs and well known
the issue is if he was violating other laws when doing it
I guess it's completely irrelevant law, according to your position.
if ur age 14 and passed hunters safety, the same training requirement we have for CCW, then u can open carry a rifle or shotgun also
as long as its not a SBR
or SBS
after 16 you need nothing
Yep, pretty sure you're simply wrong on that one. We'll see though.
https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/948/60/2/a As this would be pretty contrary to the argument you're making. Why even have this language in the bill if it's not illegal.
"(a) Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor."
its done everyday around here, thats for handguns and every other "dangerous weapon"
Except that's only in context of hunting!
its not lol
There is an "or" here. Kyle was not in compliance with hunting regulations.
its for possession and even the legal term control
It literally is.
u can have ur opinion, but the law is clearly written, albeit a bit confusing for the average person
My dude, I study law all the time. The argument from the prosecutor makes lots more sense.
29.304 literally says... Restrictions on possession or control of a firearm, its not just for hunting
Ah yes, we ignore the bits about it being about hunting and target practice.
The mental pretzel in the works.
Discord is dying at the moment.
its also for that sure, but the law is clearly written
It's literally for that specifically. lol
It states it numerous times in the statute.
29.304 Restrictions on hunting and use of firearms by persons under 16 years of age. nothing there even for 16 and 17 year olds, the whole law doesnt even apply to those over 16
Sort of done arguing this though.
I am 98% sure that charge is valid and it may stick. But given that I think the murder charges will drop, they will likely drop the misdemeanor anyway.
Bro
it's about hunting.
