Trying to prove yourself to people for whom no proof is possible (to prove the absence of existence, no less) and are operating upon their own ignorance of the system and credulity toward claims from similarly minded 'patriots' to form their beliefs can never be much more than a palliative gesture. If there hadn't been so much fake news introduced, it would be easier to navigate but incredulous is as incredulous does.
