false equivalency james

2020-11-28 19:48:53 UTC

As is a disdain for government

2020-11-28 19:48:55 UTC

Southern values are conservative values. Parties are irrelevant it’s just about liberals and conservatives. Back then republicans were the liberals and the democrats represented southern conservative values. As I said today’s liberal is tomorrow’s conservatives @SPEARS

Is it possible that the level of drone use did not appreciably increase under Obama as those types of decisions regarding tactics and such are not necessarily handled at that level. And, if that is the case, it appears that Obama "went crazy with drones" because he was more transparent about it?

2020-11-28 19:49:23 UTC

Actually not too long ago most of the South was Democrat

2020-11-28 19:49:30 UTC

Ah yes, the southern strategy theory.

2020-11-28 19:49:39 UTC

> As is a disdain for government
@busillis I had to break family tradition in order to develop both.

2020-11-28 19:49:49 UTC

@busillis when I lived in NC there was a church every block. Imagine one Starbucks surrounded by 10 churches

2020-11-28 19:50:01 UTC

Pray tell, when was the 'flip'?

2020-11-28 19:50:03 UTC

That's where the authoritarian piece comes in

2020-11-28 19:50:10 UTC

@busillis back when democrats marketed to conservatives

2020-11-28 19:50:16 UTC

Firearms come out

2020-11-28 19:50:34 UTC

I suggest we are in the middle of a flip right now, actually.

2020-11-28 19:50:37 UTC

Again party names are useless when talking about the difference between liberals and conservatives

2020-11-28 19:50:40 UTC

Also Democrat

2020-11-28 19:51:09 UTC

On ancillary issues but I reckon that's where it starts.

2020-11-28 19:51:26 UTC

Right the south were democrats and deeply conservative for their time. The democrats marketing to them to get votes. Parties are value systems they market to value systems @busillis

2020-11-28 19:51:33 UTC

what you just said would be like me saying national socialism is the same as communism

2020-11-28 19:51:48 UTC

the new conservatives who believe in drug legalization are? What

2020-11-28 19:52:04 UTC

I’m not talking about socialism at all. I am talking about political parties @SPEARS

2020-11-28 19:52:12 UTC

i am too james

2020-11-28 19:52:29 UTC

Heretics to the party

2020-11-28 19:52:48 UTC

@busillis did you read the part where I said today’s liberals are tomorrow’s conservatives? Do you understand that statement

2020-11-28 19:53:00 UTC

no, republicans and the conservative movement were hijacked sometime after WW2

2020-11-28 19:53:15 UTC

@SPEARS that doesn’t intersect with anything I am saying .

2020-11-28 19:53:19 UTC

Again political parties are intended to discourse

2020-11-28 19:53:54 UTC

Most people don't want to go to war unless they're maniacs

2020-11-28 19:54:10 UTC

Most people want to do their own thing unmolested by others

2020-11-28 19:54:18 UTC

They exist to market to a value system, they swear to do the will of the people that Vote for them. In this case with the civil war the democrats were marketing to the conservative southerners @busillis

2020-11-28 19:54:18 UTC

Tell that to the people of New York.

2020-11-28 19:54:55 UTC

Tell that to the victims of Pearl Harbor.

2020-11-28 19:55:16 UTC

you realize that when we see someone before WW2 being described as "a life long republican" or a "devout republican" that that meant they were for civil rights?

2020-11-28 19:55:27 UTC

republican party was made under a paltform for civil rights

2020-11-28 19:55:33 UTC

Marketing for who ? Corporate paymasters.

2020-11-28 19:55:41 UTC

guess what, everyone got their rights from republicans

2020-11-28 19:55:44 UTC

I say all this to say the union would be better off without the south

2020-11-28 19:56:01 UTC

@SPEARS As it was in the 60s as well.

2020-11-28 19:56:18 UTC

james you are uninformed and have a violent viewpoint of what is best for the country

2020-11-28 19:56:20 UTC

I've still yet to see that party flip.

2020-11-28 19:56:27 UTC

Wanting justice and going to war are not the same thing... I may have missed something, so apologies if I'm off point.

2020-11-28 19:56:41 UTC

@busillis omg , they market to value systems historically. Which is why back in the day they marketed to the conservative south. Do you understand? The south was still conservatives relative to the north as the north were liberals back then (and same as today pretty much)
