Thank you... Has anyone theorized how this cycle might be broken or is it inevitable? It seems that in our history, there have been many watershed moments where the (if we are to believe history) the right people found their way to leadership, postponed our demise, and possibly bought us some time. Or is the answer that at some point, we all need to collectively put our "big boy/girl/non-binary pants" on and take personal responsibility? The impetus for my question about GroupThink Confirmation Bias is that I think we are experiencing it now in an unprecedented way - on both sides of the political divide. The Left (MSM) repeatedly states that there is no evidence of widespread fraud and the Right (Trump) says that massive fraud is a forgone conclusion. Each side believing what they are told to believe are, consequently and obediently, seeing everything through the lenses they were influenced to use. I see how this falls into the pattern you outlined and it makes me fear for the world that we might leave our progeny. It seems that inventions like social media have only amplified this pattern.
