instead of addressing any of the arguments i made
@ImNotGas I’m not asking about wether or not the article meets your standards of being reliable. I’m asking about if you think what is being reported is likely or unlikely
Believe me, it is. You can believe it isn’t but when countries use sanctions as a badge of honour it’s evident influence is eroding.
Who can leverage our GPD to realign alliances to ensure our national security?
You're overlooking the basic fact of influence is largely military.
@AdamS I understand the interest of a large number of Americans to withdraw somewhat from other people's problems. I oppose it, but the respite may be good economically for US. However, I also agree that the recession of the Pax Americana is the invitation to a Pax Arabica, Pax Persae, Pax Sarmatia, or Pax Sinensis - the latter being most likely.
May not be an ally of the west it’s still pet of NATO and looking for full EU membership. Yes Europe is divided.
Money makes the world go round.
@AdamS If Europe has any ethical self interest, it will deny Turkey that standing.
America will save a lot of money if it ends its endless wars.
@PrivateEye I prefer to think of monies as merely the oil in the capital engine.
Keep in mind anonymous sources that were maligned in the past have come out to confirm who they were @ImNotGas
It should, but it won’t. No country is truly ethical. We can sell bombs to the Saudis so why wouldn’t we let turkey into the Eu
Not any more. Other nations have large military forces too. The bullying tactic no longer works.
@AdamS Certainly, however, our wars and our media are the method of our domination in world affairs. There are trade-offs.
I beg to differ.
That’s understandable.
No one has a military close to the size and budget that the US does.
Appeasement and apology is going to be our downfall.
Not even close.
Well I guess we will never know how someone comes to the conclusion that it is some how a tall tale to think someone like guliani would want a pardon
I'm saying why would people Trust a system of info where a fact weeks ago would have alleviated the circus. The action in itself is disingenuous designed to create profit by extending a nothing story.
Deregulation and subsequent consolidation are to blame for a few reasons; no competition to break stories, no competing business concerns trying to expose malfeasance of the other. Could likely come up with many many more
Just look at the naval tonnage the US has compared to other countries.
@AdamS The bullying tactic works incredibly well, but the US has too many people that wish to be nice in the middle of a dog fight.
Exactly, it has been the case, but rise of turkey on Mediterranean and North Africa is evident that the us no longer has influence. The rise of Russia in the Middle East is evident.
@AdamS, you just advanced to level 13!
Just look at the budget for the military the US has compared to other countries.
Don’t forget the Peace through Strength doctrine.
^
@AdamS Just because the hound dog is under the porch, doesn't mean it won't bite.
China is going to eat our lunch.
Call it a Biden burger
That will do what? Go bomb the same countries again and again? And let the American military deplete the countries funds whilst building influence?
@PrivateEye That is what we seek to prevent.
What’s to bite? Same false wars?
Why do you think America and the USSR were on the main stage for so long?
codependency
Yes, but now it’s withered away.
When all else fails they take you to war?
The USSR has, the US sure hasn't.
