He tried giving it a chance to fix the bill, don't know if it will work.
We've put that in here three times. I can't imagine how he would have missed it. I'm mearly saying there were more options than outright signing it since they would have overruled it with 2/3 vote... and he took one of those avenues. The problem is not trump, the problem is the bill itself. Some people can get over that, some people can't.
No he didnt
He could sign it, veto it or do nothing for 10 days (pocket veto)
He signed it
The bill is now law
But he signed it 2 days too late for people to get their money for this week
They will get it next week
This is not complex
That is all that his delay did, cost unemployed people 300 bucks
I don't think the alternative Elector slates are going to factor in at all... The state legislatures had nothing to do with them. They were a stunt.
Contact your house of representatives rep and have them submit a better bill next time. Stop whining about trump.
But you come back with "every heard of a pocket veto" as if that is what happened. Clearly you have no idea what a pocket veto is...
Wow... that was a Bill passed by BOTH House and the Senate
@SoonMrWick they have an army of Chinese trolls that handle the heavy whining.
Have you ever had a Civics class, @SoonMrWick
Congress.
Same difference. Who writes it.
Yes, Congress is both the House and the Senate
@SoonMrWick damn, man. My 8th graders are far more up on how government works than you... seriously set down and get some basic info before you start making yourself look foolish
This is true
Shit if they can't read the bill you think they write it? Come on man.
Then contact your senate rep too who didn't write it. That would help less than your house of representatives who is the first leg.
Our final elected officials implicitly trust their owners.
these are the people that wrote the bill
@chuchomucho, you just advanced to level 2!
Who wrote the diversity crap.
One more time... Both the House and the Senate passed the Bill and got it to Trump to sign in plenty of time to keep those benefits coming. Trump had options:
1) Sign the Bill and keep the benefits going to those that needed it
2) Veto it and allow Congress to see if they could override the veto or get him a new bill
or
3) Nothing for ten day (pocket veto). This means that Congress can not override the veto because its not technically a veto and the bill just dies, Congress has to start over.
Which did Trump do?
He did number 1. He signed the bill. He just delayed so long as to cost unemployed people $300.
That is all he did, he delayed it long enough to hurt unemployed people.
But yah... that was not "his fault" what the fuck ever
"As President I am demanding many rescissions under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974."
Do I see Abraham Lincoln on that map?
LOL... yea as if that is something he can actually do.... he must be taking classes from Soon

eh, then it goes to court and gets overturned and the law is taken out of the books or clarified. But he did it already.
Don't understand what is so hard for you to understand that he did it, weather you think it is constitutional or not.
It looks like congress waited for the last min to submit the bill so there would be no time for any actual objection. This basically leads to politicians playing a game with peoples live. Actually, more like hostage.
Ok Mr. "Every heard of a pocket veto" all the while having no fucking clue what one is yourself... you have no credibility anymore
This is also nothing new
